Background: Al’man the accursed was once a Heirophant of the Aori and had spent many centuries studying the ancient crystal formations that mark Valenor’s surface. Al’man was convinced that the great crystal spires in the Chrysalet and Hallowed plains were connected somehow and that they could reveal worlds beyond Hyperion inhabited by strange beings. In his later years, members of the Aoric Versarium recalled hearing Al’man conversing with unknown voices. As he became more recluse, the order accused him of heresy and cast him out. Al’man’s final resting place is unknown, however, Al’tyri warriors often speak of a lone drifter in the deep deserts of the hallowed plains. Is there any truth to the heretic’s claims? Can the crystals reveal strange new worlds? Or was Al’man touched by Valerian madness?
Ability: A faction leader may force all members of an opposing faction to fight with motion control activated.
Gameplay: the Skull of Al’man artefact requires the use of lightsabers with the ability to use motion control. Having motion control activated on a lightsaber provides a chance that the lightsaber may be deactivated mid-battle. When a saber becomes deactivated the fighter is unable to score any points, however, points may still be scored against them. Please note, lightsaber deactivation is not guaranteed. Some fighters may be able to compensate for this deactivation by keeping their distance until the saber is reactivated. Additionally, fighters may still block and evade attacks whilst their saber is deactivated.
To play the skull of Al’man artefact, a faction leader must first declare the artefact to the Game Master before the bout after both sides have declared their schedule of fighters. The Game Master must then request all fighters of the opposing faction to activate the motion control function on their lightsabers and to verify this with the judge during weapons inspection. If any member suspects that motion control is not activated then the match should be halted immediately. The judge and/or Game Master should then inspect the saber to ensure compliance with the rule.
Conditions: The Skull of Al’man artefact may only be included in a randomisation pool for the following districts: The Karrow Temple Ruins, The Basilisk and The Hallowed Plains.
