Course Overview: Introduction to 4th Kyu Kyushin-Ryu Aikido
This course covers all of 4th Kyu for Kyushin-Ryu Aikido, a pre-war style form of Aikido as taught by Kenshiro Abbe in the UK.
Course Contents:
- Forms (Kata): Yokomenuchi uraken (side of head strike with reverse hand strike) and Tsuki (strike to abdomen).
- Techniques:
- Ikkyo: The first technique, focusing on wrist control and immobilization.
- Nikkyo: Second technique, centered around applying pressure to the wrist joint.
- Sankyo: Third technique, emphasizing twisting and control.
- Yonkyo: Fourth technique, concentrating on nerve pressure points.
- Tenchinage: A technique incorporating balance disruption and throws.
- Kaitenage: A rotational throw, utilizing your opponent’s energy.
- Shihonage: The four-direction throw, a core Aikido movement.
- Iriminage: A technique involving entering and redirecting your opponent’s attack.
- Kotegaeshi: A wrist twist and throw, one of the signature Aikido techniques.
